What Would You Do if You Were in Charge of Greyhound Racing: Arrange to show live racing from Wentworth Park on Saturday and Monday nights. Actually Ill also add Sandown Thursday nights to that.
Funniest Incident Seen on the Track: A friend of Adrianne Charters who was catching a dog. The dog won by a big margin and he rushed in to catch it before the rest of the field had arrived. All you could see of him was arms and legs as he lay on the track with dogs all over him!
Gambling Highlight/Lowlight: Having $1,000 to win on Overtime at $15 when he won the 2000 NZ Stayers Cup he paid $2.40 on the tote!
Four Guests You Would Invite to Dinner: John Howard, Zinedine Zidane (I like the way he head butts), Ian Hastie (because I can talk about soccer with him) and Nathan Hindmarsh (Parramatta Eels league player) he just keeps on tackling all day.

PAWNOTE: In recognition of the Denis' retirement from training, the Auckland Club named numerous races after the Huntly based trainer during the Waterloo Cup meeting.

Following the presentation for the Waterloo Cup, Auckland chairman Barry McGhie acknowledged the training feats achieved by Denis at the Manukau Stadium with a presentation to Denis and wife Pam.

What Would You Do if You Were in Charge of Greyhound Racing: Ensure that all trials on all greyhound tracks are electronically timed with the times being displayed for public viewing.
Also I would like to see all handlers (and catchers) wearing a coat with the colour matching the dogs racing colour (rug) when parading to the traps.
Funniest Incident Seen on the Track: That was the first time I ever paraded a dog to the traps. He stopped and emptied out on the way to the boxes. I wasnt sure if I had to pick it up myself, so I asked the guy behind me (Wayne Steele) who told me quite bluntly to keep on walking.
Gambling Highlight/Lowlight: Winning just under $20,000 in a TAB Pick 6. I had seven runners going for me in the last leg the one I didnt have was the favourite who lead all the way and luckily for me just got caught on the line!
