6-KOKO WHIZ..engaged in spirited dual with smart kennelmate Lochinvar Elle when runnerup 0.75L Camb/Thur.Has yet to finish out of money in ten NZ runs,and has won both recent runs here.Looks set to enhance record today.

1-SURFIN AL..has failed to yelp in recent runs.However has recently downgraded,and can put in solid efforts at times.Should be more competitive this level,look for form improvement anytime soon.

3-EDWARD CULLEN..perennial backrunner that doesn't win out of turn.Kennel in hot form Camb/Thur,he may continue that roll.

 

Race 6

6-MOON WARROWER..flying the box's in great style,and has led out all 8 recent starts.Up in grade today,but  his box speed can ensure another prominent result.

1-NATHAN'S CHAMP..showed instant return to form when downgraded last start and chasing Cawbourne Madz throughout.Can be big threat again from same box1.

3-LACHLAN VALLEY..never far away since dropping back into this grade,and drawn to show up again.

4-CHERRY TREE LANE..gains bonus run this grade after scoring 375m Camb/Thur bt rival Twin Rivers 2.5L.Has won 2/3 sprints since returning from 4month layoff.Stepping back up in distance today.Mum won Silver Collar,so should be adept this journey.

2-CASH KNOCKA..another enjoying bonus grade run after easy 457m win Camb/Thur.Is compiling impressive formline,winning 4/5 plus runnerup since career began last month.Just held on by head when stepping up to this distance last Sun,and has had busy schedule.Will be hot fav,but may be vulnerable.

6-PERCENTAGE MAN..hit line well when close 2nd 375m Camb/Thur.Steps up to this distance for first time today.Mum Kitty's Thunder certainly made her mark over longer journeys.Could be surprise package. 

 

Race 8

5-SNICKO..high quality youngster in red hot form.Has won 4 on trot past fortnight,all in quickest time of day.Can continue on his merry winning way.PICK SIX/QUADDIE ANCHOR.

8-MY JACK ATTACK..another strong run when runnerup Collision Risk here last Sun.Has been top class performer this level over lengthy period,though taking a few strides to hit top speed effecting his winning ratio.Drawn favourably to burst around rivals,and be major chance if fav strikes early trouble.

3-ASTON RED..flashed home late when closeup 3rd Dallas Beauty here last Sun.Forms part of kennel 4-prong attack.

1-BEATRIX KIDDO..returns to racing after 6week injury layoff.Hit or miss at jump,and yet to score this level,but may jump boldly from ace draw in fresh state and spice up dividends.

7-THRILLING SPRAT..found lead from box rise,and never looked like surrendering when easy winner bt Dyna Joe 3.75L here last Sun.Can well dish up repeat performance.

6-BENNY ROX..in career best form,beaten fav in corresponding race last Sun when checked out of contention.Bounced backwith good 2nd 2.5L Snicko Camb/Thur.Looks set to go close.

1-THRILLING BOSS..gets back early,but can make ground powerfully.Desperately unlucky when stopped in tracks against Benny Rox 2back,but no excuses last week when 3rd Thrilling Sprat.Can play part in finish again.

 

Race 10

1-ENOUGH IS ENOUGH..recently downgraded,after spending 6months in top grade.Has won 3/4 box1,can add to that record today.

6-BAD STATE..downgrades today,strong record from wide draws,and aided with both empty box and slow beginner either side.Strong chance.

7-LOCHINVAR YASI..good thing beaten when bursting into contention and checked midrace last Sun.Then recorded amazing recovery to win Camb/Thur coming from hopeless position.Box manners can be woeful,but has express motor,as shown with super swift 18.22 win here last month.

9-ROLLED OATS..has spent 14months bouncing between highest grades,and always competitive this company.Severely checked when prominent last Sun,offers great upset prospect value. 

 

MONDAY 30 JANUARY

Race 9

7-LAMAR'S LADY..both career wins came here last Nov at expense of promising types Cool And Dry/Moon Warrower from box 8.Resumed from 6week spell with handy 3rd Camb btn 5.75L Downey last week.Sure to have derived benefit from run,looks hardest to beat.

9-NAUGHTY COURTY..has shown good box speed on occasions.That traight can help her run prominent today.

2-EXCITING GIRL..has poor winning strike-rate,and yet to score from 20 runs this track,but did finish one spot ahead of Lamar's Lady when finishing on into 2nd Camb last week.

 

Race 10

2-BENNY ROX..struck purple patch of form until battling 4th Camb last week.Can quickly bounce back and be distinct danger today.

4-THRILLING BOSS..back running his style,was charging through rivals in great  fashion last start and about to threaten Benny Rox,only to lose all momentum when running into back of rival.Underrated type that could offer value odds.

3-THREE INCH NAIL..on pace runner that has recorded several hot winning times at Wanganui.Was outgunned late by strong type Yella Mustard there last Fri.Capable of making another strong impression.

 

Race 11

1-NATHAN'S CHAMP..battled home midfield in recent runs,but downgrades today,and can return to form instantly.

6-SAFARI PARTY..jostled and buffeted throughout when finishing rear last time,but handy efforts prior.Begins well at times,and slick jump can see her back in party mode.

5-CAWBOURNE MADZ..showed immediate benefit of downgrade when 2nd throughout btn 2.75L Elly's Girl last time,can continue in form again.

 

Race 12

5-CASH KNOCKA..has made impressive start to his career,winning twice and not disgraced when chasing talented Lochinvar Elle home in quickly run race at Camb last week.Steps up in distance today,looks likely to be dominant chance.

3-ON TREY..finished 1L and one spot in arrears of above last time,and may suffer same fate again.

2-THRILLING CHARGE..finished head behind above last start.Made ground when 3rd behind longshot winner and rival Pampest at only previous run here,and looks improving type.

 

Race 13

8-MY JACK ATTACK..quality genuine sprinter rarely guilty of poor run.Has been failing to begin smartly in recent runs,and doing his best work at finish.Fine record from box8,can swoop and be big danger.

5-MOTHERLEE..her sublime formline halted last time when victim of terminal check.Drawn between pair of slow beginners,can easily lead and return to her winning ways.

7-CAPTAIN COUTTS..continues to step sluggishly from box's,but recorded several huge efforts of late,and bound to be storming home.

 

Race 14

2-WINSOME RITE..hasn't drawn this close to the rail in a dozen starts.Has been mixing journeys,racing over 4 different distances in recent races,but looks well suited to todays box and journey.Big hope.

9-ONE TOUGH COOKIE..returns to races after falling last time,with benefit of downgrade.In money all 3 runs when last in this grade,only needs clear room early to be major chance this lineup.

7-GENTLE ATTACK..has done well to maintain status within top two grades past 9months.Returned to track after falling and 3week layoff with handy 3rd Wang/Fri.Can make impression today.

2-SNICKO..found himself in tight quarters here last Sun,and suffered terminal check when well fancied in similar lineup.Made amends with super win bt Benny Rox 0.25L in smart 25.52 Camb/Thur.If steps can be huge winning chance.

3-MOTHERLEE..in career best form,winning recent 4runs here,and has earned cheque past 11 starts.Looks sure to play major role in finish again.

4-THRILLING NEWS..returns fresh from 6week spell.Placed several times behind talented types last campaign,can show up with bold run today.

1-ON TREY..burst home here last Sun over 318m when runnerup Cool And Dry,then held third behind pair of promising types when distant 3rd 457m Camb/Thur.Steps up in distance again today,but looks set to continue solid form.

3-CRAFTY GRAHAM..began best,then tracked easy winner Koko Whiz here last Sun,comfortably ahead of other rivals.Not so sharp when unplaced Camb/Thur,and did take tumble after finish.Drawn to be in contention again here.

4-CAWBOURNE MADZ..downgrades today after ten months in higher ranks.Should appreciate this company,though has squeeze box to overcome.Chance in very even lineup at good odds.

2-REALON RAPTURE..has hovered midfield in recent runs.If he clears inside dog early,can deliver bold run from his favourite draw.

3-ELLY'S GIRL..has hit the best form of her career this month,incl twin victories set up from swift beginnings.Handled rise to this grade with solid placing,btn 3.5L Captain Richie last Sun.

 

Race 10.

8-BENNY ROX..in superb run of form,chasing home stars  Little Mother,Have A Yap,in recent times.Zoomed around here in sizzling 30.24 when scoring 7.5L bt Mint Power last Sun.Closing hard at finish when narrow second Snicko Camb/Thur.

6-THRILLING SPRAT..small bitch lightly raced of late.Won debut top grade run here Dec 11,then nextup treckked to Wang,when caught by strong type Buddy Broke 645m Jan 13.Could lead again here,and set them a merry chase.

2-LOCHINVAR VALERO..raced up grades in double quick time.Ran pair of excellent races recent G2 Waikato Classic Series at Camb.May be better suited there,but has gone quick 30.36 here in lower grade.Drawn to be in contention.

2-KOKO WHIZ..scored with consumate ease here last Sun.Caught on line by rival Monshiraz Camb/Thur.Can gain revenge today.

3-PLATINUM PLAYBOY..Oz import making NZ debut.All recent runs have been over longer journeys,last lining up at Wentworth Park 720m Nov5.Has benefitted from trials here,a strong run can be expected.

1-MONSHIRAZ..finally broke through for first NZ win,after burning punters several times,when nabbed Koko Whiz on line Camb/Thur 457m.May be ready to continue form.

 

Race 12.

5-LOCHINVAR YASI..usually sluggish at start,but last Sun jumped from box8 and set track alight in 18.22,a time rarely bettered this grade.Did find trouble in running when unplaced Camb/Thur.Has squeeze box to overcome today,but last Sun showed he has a real motor when he wants to use it.

3-CHA CHA CHAINSAW..never handled top grade company,but downgrades today to level where he can return to form.In a fresh state today,could run boldly.

1-CORPORAL JONES..has jumped up a couple of grades after recent pair of wins.Has scored this level previously,and box1 will enhance his chances today.

7-CRAFTY GRAHAM..ruined prospects by stumbling out of boxs here last Sun,and gained bonus of downgrade as result.Outpaced in quickly run race Camb midweek.Both NZ wins have come here in handy times,capable of bold showing.

4-MISS JETSUN..failed to flatter here last time,but previous minor placings behind talented types.

 

Race 8.

5-SNICKO..smart youngster who has instantly adapted to openclass racing.Can break through for first win this level.

2-MOTHERLEE..in rich vein of form,bt Collision Risk 0.5L in quickest heat from this box.Has earned cheque recent ten runs,looks set to extend that record today.

7-DALLAS BEAUTY..showed sharp midrace speed before covering extra ground on bend  when runnerup 0.75L Motherlee 2back.Could do with stepping from box's a stride quicker,looks suited to outer draw.

8-MY JACK ATTACK..proven quality performer this level.Sluggish jumps have hindered his chances recently,but strong record box8,due utmost respect.

5-GEMZ..showed instant benefit of downgrade when runnerup to gun sprinter Roy Hobbes here last Sun.Repeat effort can win this.

2-PROVEN SHELLEY..maintained 3rd spot when placed 2.5L Boy Spice Camb/Thur.Can be in contention again from handy draw.

3-AUSTIN WILD..made fine recovery from nasty fall nextup when 3rd one spot behind Gemz above race.Has lingered this grade 6months,but recorded several solid placings.

 

Race 10.

1-HUSTLER..fine effort to recover from severe check when 9L 3rd Alabaster Camb/Thur.That was first run since dropping back into this grade,and can be expected to quit this company at short notice.

5-ALABASTER..backed up pair of 4th's in strong G2 Waikato Classic Series with powerful frontrunning 7L win Camb/Thur.Can take full advantage of bonus grade run today.

3-PRINCESS SHILOH..ex-openclass performer drops back into C3 ranks today.Slow beginner that uses plenty of track,could be expected to show improvement this level.

 

Race 11.

2-ELLY'S GIRL..after 50plus starts,has looked new dog this month with pair of slick wins,incl 6L swift 18.41 2back.Only concern all 7 career wins have come when drawn frontline,and winless 26starts when drawn second-line!

1-SWIFT SWINGER..recorded career best time when 6.75L winner Camb/Thur in meeting best 21.10.Drawn to receive soft trip,and can take advantage of bonus grade run.

4-CAPTAIN RICHIE..has become a model of consistancy,beaten a stride when deadheat Swift Swinger here last Sun.

2-GREYSYND CHROME..duely obliged as our Pick Six Anchor in corresponding race last Sun,bt Cool And Dry.Flew box's and set swift pace when 3rd Thrilling Agent 375m Camb/Thur.Can step and lead these a merry chase.PICK SIX/QUADDIE ANCHOR again.

4-TEN FOUR..has hovered midfield in recent runs,but seldom far away.This has been his preferred box,capable of making impression.

3-BEAR CUB..ex openclass runner with best days behind him.Still well able of striking success again this grade.

3-MOODY TUNES..lost ground during first bend skirmish,then ran into 4th here Thur.Needs to sharpen up her box manners,but will appreciate being drawn closer to rail today.Has the ability to win.

5-ELLY'S GIRL..took advantage of several rivals misfortune when bolting home 6.25L here Thur,running swift 18.41 in process.That was career best time,and a repeat effort would win this.

2-BIG LASS..was checked and lost chance here Thur.In a grade now where she can be expected to show up quickly.

 

Race 8.

5-CRAFTY GRAHAM..chased leader and pounced when scoring from this box here 4back,in stronger field.Capable of repeat this lineup.

6-MONSHIRAZ..has proved costly for punters in 5runs since landing NZ.Found lead for first time this campaign off the jump,and midrace looked on track for victory here Thur,but only battled latter stages and outfinished.Gets another chance to make some amends in similar field.

2-EXCUSABLE..battling type that plugged away for minor placing in corresponding race Thur.Repeat effort looms.

4-THRILLING PUNCH..downgrades today,and has slipped 2grades off his peak.Can make impression this company.

 

Race 9.

3-PARADISE CITY..capable of settling on pace,and take part in finish.Even lineup,but could offer some value.

7-PRIDE OF SOUTH..jumped well when fresh here Thur,only to suffer severe interference.This has been his best box,could be surprise packet today.

2-CULLEN'S IMPACT..downgrades today,and has dropped 2grades since last win.Could show up from handy draw.

 

Race 10.

6-FANCY TOBY..took full advantage of red rug,when jumping to lead and never threatened in quick 30.36 here Thur.That win was totally deserved,after chasing home brilliant Have A Yap on previous occassions.Not so well drawn today,but enjoying bonus run this grade,and will be welcome addition to open class ranks.

1-LOCHINVAR LAREDO..will derive great benefit from escaping box 8  that has been hindrance past couple and landing ace draw today.Has been winner at only previous attempt box1,and gives kennel strong hand.

2-JOHN DEED..showed his appreciation for being back at his favourite track when chasing Fancy Toby throughout here Thur,and fought on strongly.

 

Race 11.

1-MY JACK ATTACK..outjumped,caught in traffic,and couldn't catch sister Motherlee here Thur.Has been in great form for many weeks now,and has super record from box1.Can regain family honour and win this.

4-SNICKO..youngster relatively new to open class ranks.Ran pair of super races in recent Group2 Cambridge Classic Series,when placed behind the outstanding Bigtime Kinvara.Will certainly make stong impact this company.

2-MOTHERLEE..has matured into wonderfully consistant racebitch at this level,and another professional effort when scoring here Thur.In money recent 9runs,and looks set for another cheque today.

 

Race 12.

4-GREYSYND CHROME..chased Moon Warrower throughout when making NZ debut here Dec22.May not have been at best that day,but sure to be improved for that experience.Looks set to strike winning run today.PICK SIX ANCHOR.

1-COOL AND DRY..chased flying early leader Moon Warrower,and reeled him in comfortably when scoring here Thur.Drawn to be in contention again today.

2-JETSUN BELLE..led to turn,and weakened when downgrading here Thur.Abysmal record from inside two box's,but watch for her to show up at short notice.

5-LENNONVILLE..win or bust type at the jump.Has been freshened,and likely to enjoy plenty of room early drawn inside pair of wide runners.Leading chance.

2-WINSOME ACHIEVER..has been runnerup here 5/8 runs since downgrading.Drawn to be in contention throughout,could go one better today.

3-ASTON RED..poor beginnings past couple of months have resulted in bleak formline plus downgrade.Most recent victory here Nov6 came at expence of above rivals.Can bounce back to such form anytime soon.

6-MONSHIRAZ..let punters down when well beaten third,11.25L on NZ debut here last Sun.Should have derived benefit from first race in 5months,and no John Deed type to contend with this time.Gets chance to make amends.

7-EDWARD CULLEN..racing very solidly this grade,and finished one placing ahead of above last Sun.Always spots rivals a start early,but usually finishes stoutly.

3-CRAFTY GRAHAM..competing against some higher graded opponents,but on strength of prior win here last month,capable of making an impression.

4-MY TIE..has made the perfect start to his career with pair of easy sprint victories,including best time of day last Sun.Steps up in distance today,and virtually two grades,but due much respect.

5-EMBEZZLEMENT..quality 21 win middle distance performer,has reverted to sprinting recently and starred with two stylish wins this month.Meets pair of accomplished sprint rivals,but can lead them home again.

1-THRILLING SIGHT..versatile dog with great winning strike-rate.Dashing winner this journey 2back,then victim of luckless passage last time.Sure to live up to his name,and give a great sight.

2-MY JACK ATTACK..quality sprinter in very rich vein of form.In money 7 recent runs,and set to extend that sequence.

 

Race 10.

7-HAVE A YAP..Queen Of Manukau,was dethroned 'bigtime' at Wanganui last start.Back at her preferred home track,can begin another picket fence formline of wins.PICK SIX/QUADDIE ANCHOR.

3-EXEMPLIFIED..interesting newcomer,making NZ debut.Has raced at Sydneys top track,Wentworth Park within the last month,and will be welcome addition to local scene.Disadvantaged as C4 entrant.

1-COLLISION RISK..equally adept over both sprint/middle distance journeys.Never adapted to Wanganui track past couple,but several solid efforts here prior.Ace draw,plus inside pair of wide runners gives her royal chance today.

5-CAPTAIN CARLOS..pinged box's here 3back,and held out classy My Jack Attack.Similar jump would see him tough to catch.Represents value bet.

7-ONE TOUGH COOKIE..consistant performer,likely to be competitive this lineup.

1-BEATRIX KIDDO..her chances largely depend on box speed,but box 1 will be an assist today.Does hold quickest winning time ,and should appreciate field of lesser quality than her recent assignments.

7-PRINCESS SHILOH..has raced over 5 different distances in recent starts,and recently downgraded.Is suited to outside draws,and kennel won corresponding race last Sun with 'out of form' runner.Could swoop and surprise.

2-RHODA HOLMES..has been winless from 20 attempts this grade,but occasional good jump sees him in the money.Is overdue to jump well,and in field lacking depth could feature.

6 LEKTRA FANTASY..looked an early winner when runnerup on NZ debut 3back,then proved costly for punters in both runs since.Prepared to give him another chance.

8 HOT POOTIE..lingered for while with little success,but has struck best career form lately.Strong frontrunning win ahead of several of these bt Imagination 5L 30.61 last Sun,then next home after Crafty Graham Camb/Thur.

6 PUNK PORTSEA..generally settles in back half of field early,but can finish off races well.Gets chance to score again.

5 REALON RAPTURE..rejoined winners list after 11month absence last Sun when benefitted from downgrade in handy 18.58.Not as well boxed today,but with luck early can strike again.

1 THRILLING PETRA..veteran bitch,chances much aided by inside draw.Last success 5back came from this box.Doesn't run times of note,but can finish in dividends if others strike trouble in running.

 

Race 9.

4 THRILLING SPRAT..makes debut at top level on back of two comprehensive 8L victories here past fortnight.Only a small bitch,but drawn between rivals that have failed to muster early recently.Well up to handling this company.

1 THRILLING BOSS..upset hotpot Have A Yap when strong finish along rail took him to victory in G1 Waterloo Cup heat here 4back,then fell in final.Slow starts have proved costly both runs since,but freshened and benefits from inside box.

8 FANCY TOBY..checked rearwards early,made strong recovery into 2nd,8L adrift Thrilling Sprat here last Sun,then massive finish from rear to just miss by head,btn Winsome Rite Camb/Thur.Also twice runnerup behind Manukau Queen Have A Yap recently,so first success at this level looks imminent.

 

Race 10.

3 EMBEZZLEMENT..now winner 23 races,yet only one as sprinter until last Sun.Then he jumped to lead,and cleared out from talented Motherlee 4.25L in sizzling 18.19.No rivals here can match that time.Repeat jump will see repeat result.

6 BENGINEER..quality sprinter who thrives from outer box's.This has been his most successful draw,and did lead home Embezzlement by 0.75L when winning here 2back.

 

Race 11.

3 MONSHIRAZ..Aust import making NZ debut.Obviously has had issues,just two starts this year at The Meadows,and been lightly raced overall.Brother to kennelmates Ichi Ni,and half to Have A Yap.Would come as no surprise to see him win,take on trust.

4 JOHN DEED..recently downgraded to company where he can be expected to score at short notice.

2 SWIFT SWINGER..tries hard,but struggles final stages this journey.Can place at odds.

5 EDWARD CULLEN..refuses to go hard early,and continues to make good ground second half of races.

 

Race 12.

4 MARK'S PET..recently downgraded to level where she can be dangerous.Has run over 4 different distances last 5 runs,but I see this as her preferred journey.Kennel has been in hot form recently,she can add to their success here.

3 LACHLAN VALLEY..downgrades today,and jumps from box that brought his latest win here 5back.Is aided being drawn inside runner thats likely to give him room early.

5 THRILLING CAIRO..another recent downgrader,that mixes distances,and doesn't win out of turn.Has poor record this track/distance,but will appreciate the lesser company.

8 GO TO CROW..continues to disappoint,and hasn't placed for six months,dropping two grades in process.I keep expecting him to show some rejuvenated form,and box8 has suited earlier in career.One for risktakers to consider.

1 LEKTRA FANTASY..made promising NZ debut here recently,hitting lead before being outfinished up straight by Excusable 1.25L.Struck trouble in followup run Camb/Thur,but can make amends here.

3 LAMARS LADY..steps out of maiden grade,and up in distance after pair of sprint victories here.Did place both times when beginning career this journey.Will come as no surprise to see her go close today.

2 CAPTAIN CARLOS..pinged out from wide box here last Sun,and caught on line by classy kennelmate My Jack Attack.Similar jump from more suitable inner draw can see him go one better today.

CAPTAIN COUTTS..previously mainly a Cambridge competitor,has jumped two grades here past two Sundays.A stride slow early,but amazing burst around field when scoring 3.75L bt Lachlan Valley last time.This tougher,but due respect.

LACHLIN VALLEY..has filled runnerup role twice since downgrading recently.It took huge effort by Captain Coutts to deny him victory last time,when several of these rivals finished behind.

SAFARI PARTY..victim of totally rotten luck recent 3runs,and bit the dust at Camb/Thur.Can ping box's and lead on occassions and prove tough to catch.

TALIESIN BLUE..centurian and real veteran,recently having his 5th birthday.Began NZ career back in Feb 09 in top grade,and downgrades to C3 today for first time since.Hasn't been far away in recent runs,but does struggle final stages.Could cut across field early and place.

CHEVERTON..has been very disappointing since rushing up grades to top grade.Last win back in March,and enjoyed his first placing since when 3rd Captain Coutts last week.Could continue improvement this company.

CAPTAIN COUTTS..has done most of his racing at Cambridge,but scored his first win Manukau last week in style.Has always looked above average,expect him to handle step up to this grade and go close again.

SAFARI PARTY..pinged box's and caught on line by Mark's Pet last week when debuting this grade.Badly impeded when 4th Camb/Thur.Can be major player with another swift jump.
