Auckland Greyhound Racing Club Incorporated

The Board of Directors of the Auckland Greyhound Racing Club Incorporated (Club) requires the services of an Independent Board Member.

The Board administers the Club located at the Manukau Sports Bowl and role includes maintenance of complex, promotion and the development of greyhound racing in the region.  The club currently stages 60 totalisator race meetings per year.

Applicants must have expertise in management, marketing, event management or finance.  Previous experience in the administration of the racing industry is not essential.

The eligibility of applicants is as follows:

  1. Need not be nominated by the Club
  2. Must not have been an executive, board member or employee of the Club or the NZ  Greyhound            Association at any time within the two years prior to this application.
  3. May be, or may have been, a member of the Club
  4. Need not have had an active involvement in greyhound racing, but ought to have an interest in greyhound racing.
  5. May not depend for their livelihood on greyhound ownership, training or breeding.
  6. Must not at any time have been disqualified for any corrupt practice.

Want to Earn Some Extra Cash

We are looking for a to join our casual staff race day team at the Manukau Stadium.

The Club stages 60 race meetings each racing season, primarily on a Sunday afternoon.

This part time role, seven hours (10.00am to 5.00pm) involves assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the racing surface during the race meetings.  It would suit someone (student or semi-retired person) looking for some extra cash. 

Applicants must have a valid NZ Driver’s License, good attention to detail and a willingness to adapt to circumstances.

An understanding of the racing industry would be advantageous
